What People Are Saying About Every Swing Should Have a Tree and other poems
This book made me smile, laugh and think! The way Ms. Farber sees the world is a delight! She can observe the ordinary and uncover secrets lost to most people. As a senior citizen she finds joy in meeting strangers on the cross town bus in New York City, discovering creative ways to use her cane, visiting with family and friends (and their pets!), looking for her identity as a grandmother and adjusting as she moves from independent living in the big city to a less busy setting to be closer to family. She admits that change can be difficult but with her positive outlook, she searches for what is unique and special in others, as well as daily situations.
While these uplifting poems are personal, the experience is universal. The book itself is not large, but the thoughts it inspired in me are monumental! I’m already reading much of it a second or third time. It’s a keeper! -- Kay from Virginia
This collection of short poems delights with its gentle humor and keen observations. The poet's skill cloaks complexities style and thought and draws you back to reread and reconsider favorites. -- C. Mulford from Missouri
